About the role

As a Senior Backend Developer in the Architecture & Engineering team, you will build and maintain the technical infrastructure that enables our company to operate globally. Our team is the engine stitching together and driving our internal business capabilities. We create and consume APIs to support finance, supply chain, commercial, and beyond.

You will act as the crucial bridge translating business requirements into scalable technical deliverables. We operate an event-driven architecture heavily utilizing Go and GCP (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks). Operational excellence is critical to our team; you will help us automate operational hurdles and set-up alerts and dashboards using tools like Grafana. Looking forward, this role will be pivotal in modernizing our technical architecture and spearheading the adoption of AI and agentic development within our software development life cycle.

What you’ll do

• Develop, deploy and maintain services in Go on GCP Cloud Run

• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure with Terraform

• Design and maintain event-driven systems using GCP Pub/Sub and Cloud Tasks

• Build REST APIs for internal teams and external partners

• Keep our services healthy with alerts, logs, traces and Grafana dashboards

• Explore and adopt AI and agentic tools to improve how we build software

You care deeply about software quality, combining a test-driven approach with a focus on operations to keep services running smoothly. Success factors for this role include

• A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

• Solid experience in backend development. Go is a plus, but if you know another backend language and want to learn Go, we’d love to hear from you

• Experience working with relational databases

• Infrastructure as code (preferably using Terraform)

• Experience with event-driven architecture and with building and consuming REST APIs

• An operational mindset and experience with logging, alerting and dashboards

• Being curious about AI and keen to find practical ways to use it in your work

• Taking ownership of your work from start to finish

• Being structured and analytical, and collaborating well across teams and domains

It is a benefit to have

• Experience with MuleSoft or other integration platforms
