About the role
As a Senior Embedded Manufacturing Engineer you will be a part of a team that is responsible for designing, implementing and delivering test systems for manufacturing of reMarkable products. This is a role that will be increasingly important as production volumes and the number of products is growing together with the ambitions of the company.
You will be part of the unit responsible for developing and maintaining low-level software for our current and future products. You will be working closely together with other embedded software and hardware domain experts and work in cross-functional teams that are focusing on solving ongoing and future product manufacturing challenges.
You will have the opportunity and responsibility to shape the company's direction and attitude towards manufacturing, quality assurance, test and test automation.
Main responsibilities of the role
- Design and implement embedded manufacturing tests and test systems for future products, in co-operation with in-house engineers and external manufacturing partners. This includes, but is not limited to, test software, test jigs, reporting systems and test procedures.
- Apply best practices in test methodology, electronics manufacturing and software engineering.
- Deliver continuous improvements to manufacturing and manufacturing test systems for ongoing production of current products.
- Oversee that reMarkable is set up for continuous manufacturing with low down-time and minimal risk.
- Support ongoing manufacturing partners with technical advice, troubleshooting and problem solving.
Who we believe will succeed in this role
We are looking for an experienced embedded manufacturing test engineer. You have experience in developing and delivering manufacturing tests in production or embedded system software for industrial or consumer electronics, and hold general electronics knowledge. It is also great if you feel comfortable working with foreign manufacturing and engineering partners, as well as being flexible in assigned responsibilities.

- Product Lifetime Management (PLM) systems
- Six Sigma concept understanding
- Atlassian (Jira, Confluence), GitHub, and project tools knowledge
- Agile project management
We don't expect you to be experienced in all the areas mentioned above, but it would be beneficial if you have some familiarity with them.
